The North Face Expert Personal Shopper

Part of a pilot program for The North Face, the Expert Personal Shopper was designed to help guide a user to the appropriate jacket based on answers provided. The goal is for the interface to be conversational, replicating the in-store experience of talking to a knowledgable sales associate to help users find what they are looking for in the vast online product catalog.
The pilot produced 40% more time spent on site, and a 15% increase in order value.
Using conversational language, a user can describe what they are looking for. The Expert Personal Shopper guides the user through the process.
Not only does the Expert Personal Shopper help find the right products, it also recommends other products and content that might be of interest.
