Follett is the largest retailer you’ve never heard of. Powering both the brick and mortar and online bookstores of many of the nation’s colleges and universities, Follett maintains more than 1700 unique e-commerce websites for more than 1300 educational institutions. Faced with an aging e-commerce infrastructure, Follett invested $50 million into revamping their online commerce efforts. In addition to a complete experience overhaul, we helped Follett build and implement a system to allow for one-click brand customization. Previously only able to serve a handful of schools with a high touch relationship, Follett can now extend that same level of service to every experience.
A true success, Follett has seen a 15-20% increase in sales. And their campus partners have nothing but glowing reviews for the experience.
Follett provides a modern, easy to use e-commerce experience for online campus bookstores. More complex than a traditional solution, Follett also needed the ability to sell and rent both physical and digital textbooks.
Each site is tailored to the school’s brand and content, and integrates with the school’s infrastructure to offer textbook and other course materials.
Part of a forward-thinking, headless architecture, our Design System and Development Kit provided Follett with the building blocks to quickly create new templates to enhance the experience. With this new system Follett has been able to make continuous updates, pushing new features every 2-3 weeks, instead of every 6 months.
